Terms
Ontiqo Pty Ltd · last updated 25 August 2026
Leaf Viewer — "Leaf" for short — is proprietary software licensed
to you by Ontiqo Pty Ltd. You may use it
on any computer you control, for anything, for as long as you like. You may not
sell it or pass it on.
Your licence
Install and use Leaf on any computer you own or control, for as long as you
like, for any purpose — personal, academic or commercial. Read, open and copy
your own documents without restriction. Leaf claims nothing over the
files you open. They are yours; it only draws them.
Free stays free
Leaf Viewer is free for a limited time while it is new. If a price is
introduced later, it will apply only to people who obtain Leaf after that
point.
A copy obtained while Leaf is offered free of charge stays licensed to you free
of charge, permanently, including updates. A price introduced later applies
only to people who obtain Leaf after that point. It is not applied backwards.
That is a term of the licence, not a marketing line. The Microsoft Store also
enforces it on its own: it records that you acquired Leaf, and continues to
offer it to you as free to use regardless of what it later costs.
Refunds
Should Leaf ever cost money and you pay for it, then if it is not what you
wanted, ask within 30 days and you will be refunded in
full. No reason is required and
nothing needs to be proved. Where Leaf was bought through the Microsoft Store,
that store's own refund process applies as well — this promise is in addition
to it, and in addition to any right you have under consumer law, not instead of
either.
What you may not do
- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute Leaf or any part of it, modified or not, alone or inside something else.
- Remove or alter the copyright notice, the third-party attribution, or any mark identifying Leaf as Leaf.
Nothing above limits anything the law permits you to do regardless of what a
licence says.
What Leaf is built on
Leaf includes 67 open-source components, each remaining under its own licence.
They are credited in full, with their terms, in the
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md file that ships with the application. Two
carry obligations beyond attribution and are described there — notably
Graphviz, used unmodified under the
Eclipse Public License 2.0.
No warranty, and limits on liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Leaf is provided as is and as available,
without warranty or condition of any kind. Ontiqo does not warrant that Leaf
will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will render every file correctly.
Ontiqo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss,
nor for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill or business interruption. Total
liability is limited to what you actually paid for Leaf in the preceding twelve
months, or nothing if you paid nothing.
Leaf never modifies, saves or transmits the documents it opens — it is a
reader. Even so, keep your own backups. No software should be the only copy of
anything you care about.
Your consumer rights
Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you
have under law that cannot lawfully be excluded, and every clause above applies
only so far as it does not do so.
In particular, for supplies to consumers in Australia, our goods and services
come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. Where those guarantees apply and the goods are not of
a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our
liability for failing to comply is limited, at our option, to resupplying the
software or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If a provision is
found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. The authoritative text is the
LICENSE file distributed with the application; this page states the
same terms in the same words, arranged for reading.
